Product Description

When it comes to winter gravel riding, the line between fun and hideous is a pretty fine one. When the temperature plummets and the trails are either covered in slush or flooded or deep in mud (or maybe all three if you’re really lucky), then something as simple as keeping your extremities warm makes all the difference in how enjoyable the ride will be.

Most winter gravel riders (at least northern hemisphere ones) will have had cold wet hands at some point - even the best gloves seem to expose you to the elements eventually. So, what do you do at this point? Ideally you find a café and warm your hands around a steaming hot caffeinated beverage, or you pull a spare pair of dry gloves out of your jersey pocket. But what if you don’t have space for a spare pair of gloves and the nearest café is shut?

Lifesystems might have just the thing for you – a couple of small sachets designed to produce 90 minutes of 54 degrees C heat. The sachets are small and light enough to have in your jersey pocket (or seatpack) and most importantly are re-usable. In this era of enhanced environmental awareness, single use plastics and the disposable culture are a non-starter, so Lifesystems have designed these warmers to be reusable – just put them in a pan of boiling water when you get home and wait for the crystals to dissolve. As soon as they have cooled, they’re ready to be reused.

Portable, reusable and low cost – definitely something to consider adding to your cold weather gravel riding armoury.
