Monday Motivation - #crazy500

Type2 fun (where something is only fun in hindsight) isn't peculiar just to cycling, it's something you find in most endurance sports. Having said that, cyclists do seem to thrive on making the most out of challenges and weather conditions that would see most "normal" people heading indoors for the sofa, a log burning stove and a vat of hot chocolate. So when Nol and Loek from FatPigeon told us they were planning to ride 500kms of farm tracks, broken tarmac and cobbles between Christmas and New Year, we weren't that surprised!

This is how Nol and Loek described their adventure "Riding 500km, paved and unpaved, during the darkest days of the year. With temperatures around 0 degrees. What’s not to love? In the world of bike riding, it's winter riding that scares us the most. But in the last days of 2021 Fatpigeon.cc teamed up with 15 brave riders, a media team and a support crew to conquer winter anyway. They took on the challenge to ride over 500 kilometers during the darkest days of the year."

You can check out the film of the #crazy500 at the link below. With the Tour of Flanders and Paris-Roubaix races just days away, the timing is perfect.

If you'd like to see more of the fantastic imagery from the FatPigeon #crazy500 you can download a copy of their e-book here or even better, you can order a copy of the hardback print version here
