Put Saturday 3rd June 2023 in your diary and draw big red lines around it in marker pen. Why? Because that’s the day when Rebound is going to be held. What’s Rebound you ask? Hopefully it’s going to be the world’s largest gravel event!
Can you imagine a gravel event where the combined total distance of the participants is 1million miles? That’s the aim of the organisers of Rebound. They’re hoping to attract around 50,000 participants to take part and the best bit is, you don’t even need to travel anywhere to take part – you can do it all from your doorstep.
Inspired by the gravel phenomenon that is Unbound, former pro-road racer Laurens ten Dam and his Live Slow Ride Fast crew have come up with the idea of creating a global version of Unbound. No travel hassles. No carbon footprint. Riding with your friends. Discovering some new gravel routes. Having fun. And maybe even winning some prizes. Sounds like a fun way to spend a Saturday in June, right?
If you’d like to take part, there are a few very simple rules:
REBOUND is reserved for all cyclists, no matter your level. This race will take place on the 3rd of June 2023, starting from any desired point, over a distance of 25 miles (40 km), 50 miles (80 km), 100 miles (160 km) or 200 miles (320 km).
