Described by its creator, Valerio Stuart, as a "non-competitive, unsupported, single-stage, fixed-route event crossing the Peak District along trails, bridleways, singletrack and quiet scenic roads", the Tor Divide is back for another edition in 2026.
"Pack what you need, come out and ride, be it at party pace or with a knife between your teeth." Making your event stand out in a sea of competitors is not easy, but Valerio has done a great job for the 2026 Tor Divide. He describes the event, which is due to take place over the weekend of 16th and 17th May 2026, as being "just about having fun riding a bike."
The Tor Divide is a self-supported, non-competitive event and "there won't be any money prizes for the first finisher other than glory, celebrations, and the sense of accomplishment when crossing the finish line."
In the 2026 edition, there are three routes to choose from "including a non-technical route to suit different levels of fitness and skills. The routes will share the start/finish point as well as most of the highlights."

Now in its third edition, the Tor Divide has seen riders of all ages and abilities taking part. There are both solo rider and pairs categories at the event. The pairs category, introduced in 2025, proved to be popular, but even if you sign up by yourself, the supportive, sociable atmosphere means you are guaranteed to make friends along the way. In previous editions, riders tended to stick around afterwards cheering finishers and exchanging stories over pizza and drinks.
