The Gear – Pashley Wildfinder adventure bike launched

The rugged Wildfinder will take you around the world, into the wilderness or on your own out-of-bounds weekend adventure.” That was one of the sentences in the press release announcing the launch of a new away-from-the-road bike by British bike manufacturer Pashley and it immediately grabbed our attention. If you’d like to find out more, head on into the article…..

Back at the start of 2025, Pashley metaphorically threw off the shackles of their 99 year history of manufacturing classic steel-framed bicycles in the UK and launched a range of new cutting-edge road and gravel bikes. Nine months later and it’s clear that their first foray into away-from-the-road bikes was a success and they’re back with an even more rugged model – the Wildfinder. Pashley describe the Wildfinder as a bike that is “ready for all-day, all-year, all-weather and all-terrain fully equipped adventure.”

At the heart of the Wildfinder is a hand-crafted steel frame, constructed from Reynolds 853 EZB tubing. While the tubing might be traditional, there are 3D printed dropouts, seatstay/top tube junction and chainstay yoke included to bring the design bang up to date. The Wildfinder has been designed as an adventure/monstercross style bike and as such has clearance for 29x2.4” tyres. Each frame is made to order in Pashley’s factory in the UK, which means they can be easily customised to allow for different groupset options. You can spec your Wildfinder to be equipped for a mechanical groupset, 11 speed wired Di2 or completely wireless.

The Wildfinder frames are UDH compliant, set up for BSA bottom brackets and come with external hose/cable routing which “futureproofs and provides ease of maintenance in the wild.” Framesets come fitted with multiple mounting points for luggage, mudguards and pannier racks. The geometry of the frames is suspension-corrected for a 100mm travel fork and the 3D printed rear drop out allows disc rotors up to 180mm in diameter to be fitted. The frames are designed for 1x set-up only and can accommodate a front chainring up to 42t in size.

Pashley offer the Wildfinder in two ‘recommended’ dropbar builds, plus a third build created around a flat handlebar. Both dropbar builds come with the option to swap the stock fork (which is also constructed from Reynolds 853 tubing) for a Rockshok SID SL suspension fork and/or replace the stock rigid seatpost with a PRO Koryak 120mm dropper post.

Two colours are offered as standard – Ember and Tempest, but you can also have your frameset custom painted for a small additional fee. Each frame is e-coated to protect against corrosion and then hand powder coated “for an extra durable finish.”

Pashley are going to offer the Wildfinder in five different sizes from XS to XL, which should accommodate the majority of riders. Prices range from £2795/€3595/US$4195 for the flatbar model up to £2,995/€3,895/US$4,495 for the top-of-the-range specced dropbar model.
